Jess and Gian with their wedding band, Radio!
Jess and Gian searched near and far to find the perfect band for their wedding at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, and holy heck they nailed it. Radio Tokyo ( @radiotokyorocks ) from Pittsburgh was the best band for this crowd and the absolutely knocked it out of the park. Singer/rapper Ambition (aka Pretty Ricky!!!) was just incredible. We’re talking hover board through the crowd while singing incredible. We had an absolute blast working with you all!
A wedding band really makes a huge difference in the mood of a party. There are some amazing DJ’s in the Buffalo Niagara region I really enjoy working with, but the entertainment a band brings truly takes it up a level. For the guests who don’t enjoy dancing, there is still something for them to watch and enjoy. I find wedding guests stay later at receptions when there is a band and that the age range of the guests remains much more diverse as well. A great wedding band like Radio Tokyo is definitely worth the splurge if you have the budget!
Check out this fantastic band over on their website: https://www.radiotokyorocks.com/

Thanks to Jess and Gian for having me document this amazing wedding and band at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center!
Alli – Maple Grove High School!
We had a WHIRLWIND of a senior portrait photography session with Alli a couple weeks ago. We ventured all over Bemus Point, NY, a charming small town near Buffalo in WNY. Alli is a senior at Maple Grove HS this year and we made a point to incorporate a LOT of her home town experience in to her shoot. We went from the neighbors tree swing to the docks of Lake Chautauqua, from the Hotel Lenhart’s signature rockers to the local soccer field. We covered a LOT of ground! Alli’s little sister Britta came along for the ride and jumped in for a few family photos too!
Congrats Alli on senior year, I hope it’s the best yet! And bring home that soccer state title!!!
Bemus Point is located right on Lake Chautauqua. There are beautiful views of the lake throughout the area, including on this dock in front of Alli’s friends house! Bemus Point and nearby Long Point State Park make for wonderful locations for senior portrait photography in WNY
These colorful rocking chairs on the front porch of the Hotel Lenhart are a signature of Bemus Point. They actually serve a deliciously sweet cocktail called, you guessed it, “a rocker,” here at the hotel. My sister and I have enjoyed quite a few Rockers on this porch over the years!
Alli is a star senior soccer player, and the Maple Grove ladies have a strong record. I hope they make states this year (and fair better than my team did, we lost in states, it was… sad)! At any rate it only made sense for us to get a few senior portraits of Alli on the soccer field during her photography session.
Thanks for having me photograph your senior portrait photography, Alli, and best of luck with all your future endeavors!

Ah, young love. Tori and Alec met while working at their local grocery store and it was love at first sight. The joy and excitement these two share for the future is palpable as they are as bright eyed and all smiles as they come. They’ll be married this weekend at a private property in Honeyoye Falls, NY. An outdoor wedding ceremony and a reception in what sounds like a beautiful old barn are planned. I can’t WAIT to see it all put together.
In the meantime, a few engagement photos to enjoy…
The three of us explored the grounds of Tifft Nature Preserve in Buffalo, NY. Tifft is one of my FAVORITE locations to work in – always yielding gorgeous light and lush backgrounds at every turn. From rolling hills of tall grassy fields to enchanted looking forest areas, the place is a dream. If you’re lucky, you may even cross paths with some exciting wildlife. I’m pretty sure we were standing 10 feet away from actual Bambi at one point.
On the nerdy photographer end of things, this was also an extra fun shoot for me in an unexpected way! I had broken one of my favorite lenses (70-200 2.8) a few days prior to this shoot and so I decided to push myself to try some different things. I shot all prime lenses! It’s easy to get in to habits with photography and resort to what “works.” Whenever people say they’re bored with a location or a subject matter, I always insist there are ways to make it exciting again – from emphasizing the story of the subjects to trying totally new angles, new poses, new lighting scenarios, and of course, experimenting with different lenses! I find that when experimenting, you always pick up new ideas to implement in the future – it’s a great exercise and great way to keep things fresh!
Anyway… Enjoy!
